Product Description
Tanbour is, with no single doubt, a unique instrument with a simple shape but a miraculous sound, which connects you to yourself. Tanbour is recommended for all age ranges. Whether you know this instrument before or you want to get to know it, Tanbour could be a great choice for you.
Tanbour has 3 cords(strings) and mainly 14-15 frets. One of the most attractive facts about Tanbour is that, unlike most of the Eastern instruments(like Setar, Santoor, Oud, Kamancheh, etc.), it does not have half tones and it supports half tones only. So, a mix of Tanbour and Piano or Clarinet makes perfect fusion music.

Why Tanbour classes with me:
My class is full of fun; however, I strongly believe hard work and dedication make everyone perform. We have to know each other, and there are lots of stories and secrets behind the culture of Middle Eastern music. I share them from time to time, and sometimes I ask you to do a little research, based on your interest.

KNOW MORE ABOUT ME
I grew up in a family full of music. My mother was my first inspiring mentor, singing us beautiful lullabies with her golden throat and then at the age of 8, teaching me Persian classical modal systems (Dastgahs).
I began with “setar” when I was only 9, learning basic techniques from Maestro Behnam Vadani. Then, I followed Maestro Masoud Shoari for a long time, learning “Radif” and “Ostad Saba” style. Later, I received the honour to have Maestro Hosein Alizadeh as my second inspiring mentor for about 7 years, learning how to control your emotions toward creating innovative art and living my life with miraculous melodies in my mind, and finally, I followed Maestro Dariush Talaii for professional Radif techniques and old style of Setar playing.
Within all these years, my deep passion for Tanbour, has driven me to follow Tanbour as a spiritual instrument and a style for living, until I got the honor to follow Maestro Keikhosro Pournazeri and Maestro Mohamad Zolnouri, learning Kurdish culture and different Kurdish Maqams in Tanbour playing.
Being a Persian musician and improviser, I established SAZYAR in 2012, as a trusted online shop for those who are looking for decent Persian musical instruments. Sazyar has helped hundreds of musicians and music fans find their most suitable instrument, after a professional consultation with Sazyar team members and based on their interest, location and their budget.
I have contributed to many solo and band performances and have taught hundreds of online students from America, Europe and Asia.
- Q: I am not sure which instrument to choose for my kid or for myself to start learning.

If you really have no idea about what instrument you have to choose for yourself or for your kid as a real soulmate, I can offer you a free 20-minute consulting session. Normally, after this session and like many other, you would find yourself more informed on how to help yourself or your kid choose your loved instrument. - Q.
